The Israeli Forces detained female climbers “Yara Abu Hashish and Baraa Odeh” in Ramallah, West Bank

Last night, the 6th of May 2024, the Israeli occupation soldiers stormed Ramallah City, which they are not supposed to enter Area (A) based on Oslo Agreement, and kidnaped our Climbing member "Yara Abu Hashish" a climber and Birzeit University student. Yara has been an active instructor in organising climbing trips and teaching sport to Palestinian locals and international tourists.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, the situation in the occupied West Bank has gotten worse, many Palestinians imprisoned without being charged under "the administrative detention". In this case, the Israeli military court has the authority to sentence any Palestinian civilian from 3-6 months, which can be extended if the judge decides, just because they are suspected of posing a threat , as they claim. What makes matters worse is the mistreatment of Palestinian detainees, particularly women, whom many of them were physically assaulted and tortured inhumanely.

A month ago, the Israeli Forces detained another climbing friend, Baraa Odeh, 34, from Bethlehem, who works for the International German Cooperation GIZ. She was sentenced to three months of administrative detention without trial.
